Court suspends attorney for DUI, drunken court hearing

The state’s top court suspended a suburban attorney who pleaded guilty to drunk driving and failed a breathalyzer test during a court appearance.Robert C. Thomas, a sole practitioner in Woodridge, was suspended on an interim basis by the Illinois Supreme Court effective June 19.In January, an Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission Hearing Board recommended Thomas be suspended for at least two years, based on a two-count ARDC complaint alleging alcohol-related misconduct.Thomas denies all charges of …
