Inspector general post filled for first time in four years

SPRINGFIELD — A new inspector general was unanimously approved by both chambers last week, filling the position full time for the first time in more than four years.The legislature approved former 4th District justice M. Carol Pope to the position of inspector general. Pope was first recommended to the General Assembly in December and the Legislative Ethics Commission took its final steps to recommend the appointment of Pope last week.“Carol Pope is very highly qualified,” said Rep.
