Congress urged to block limits on abortion

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Y. Raoul and 15 counterparts are calling on Congress to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would bar states from imposing medically unnecessary restrictions on abortion that are designed to limit access to the procedure. “Often, strict requirements imposed on abortion providers are presented as measures to protect and advance women’s health,” the attorneys general maintained in written testimony submitted to U.S. Sen.
