Northwestern University settled its dispute with Mitsubishi Electric over allegations that the company infringed three of the school’s robotics patents, Reuters reports. Northwestern accused Mitsubishi of infringing patents for industrial collaborative robots, otherwise known as “cobots,” that can safely interact with humans in a shared workspace. Northwestern said its professors Michael Peshkin and Edward Colgate invented the “cobots.”
