A federal appeals court Wednesday threw out a $3 million award made to the wife of a Chicago lawyer who killed himself six days after he began taking a generic version of the antidepressant Paxil.The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Paxil’s manufacturer cannot be held liable for failing to include warnings on the label of the brand-name and generic versions of paroxetine about the purported increased risk of suicide in adults.Federal law required GlaxoSmithKline LLC (GSK) to get permission from the U.S. Food …
