SPRINGFIELD — Trying to combat lack of access to health care in rural Illinois, a new bill would loosen restrictions on the number of physician assistants a doctor can have.Current law states a physician can only collaborate with five physician assistants, but Senate Bill 2904 increases the number the doctor is allowed to collaborate with to seven.“This bill will ease the way for medical practices to improve access to high quality health care provided by physician assistants,” said Jennifer Orozco …
