After Rauner signature, top court to overhaul filing, appearance fees

The Illinois Supreme Court today said it will review and implement a bipartisan task force’s recommendations for fee schedules after Gov. Bruce Rauner signed into law legislation overhauling both civil and criminal court fees earlier this week.Under House Bill 4594, civil litigants statewide will soon be referencing fee schedules for lawsuit filings and appearances, with the high court determining which civil actions fall under which fee schedule.
