Knockoff firm website must face copyright suit

A lawyer accused of using material ripped off from a competitor’s website to poach clients must face a copyright-infringement lawsuit, a federal judge held.In a written opinion last week, Chief U.S. District Judge Ruben Castillo declined to dismiss the suit Larry Ford Banister II of the Law Office of L. Ford Banister II filed against Jeffrey Stewart Firestone.Castillo also declined to vacate a preliminary injunction that directed Firestone and two other men to disable a website that purportedly used copyrighted …
