Patricia Manson covers the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. She also covers the American Bar Association, the 7th Circuit Bar Association and the Chicago chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

Before joining the Law Bulletin in 1997, she worked as a reporter at daily newspapers in Pensacola, Fla.; Houston; and Little Rock, Ark.

Manson grew up in Overland Park, Kan., and earned an undergraduate degree in journalism and a law degree at the University of Kansas. She passed the bar in Kansas, Texas and Arkansas and was admitted to the bar in Washington, D.C., as a freebie. She gave up taking bar exams after moving to Illinois.
