A man who sustained a permanent kidney injury, as an adverse side effect of the medication he was taking, settled his medical-malpractice lawsuit for $4.5 million. Alexander Zubatov sued his primary care physician Sofiya Elterman and her practice group, NorthShore University HealthSystem Faculty Practice Associates, in June 2016. The suit alleged Elterman never told Zubatov his kidney functions were worsening over time, nor did she change the medication.
