New ARDC chair aims to be proactive

The Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission’s new chairman says he is looking forward to helping the commission teach lawyers the proper practices before a disciplinary hammer ever needs to drop.Effective in January by Illinois Supreme Court appointment, James R. Mendillo now heads the seven-member commission responsible for creating the organization’s budget, managing its personnel, creating policy and rules as well as suggesting rule changes to the Supreme Court.The two-year term expires Dec. 31 …
