SPRINGFIELD — A bill that would set gender and race requirements for Illinois-based corporate boards narrowly passed through the House last week.House Bill 3394, sponsored by Democratic Rep. Emanuel Chris Welch of Westchester, would require all publicly traded companies headquartered in Illinois to have at least one African American and one woman on their boards.
