Hospital, doctor sued after fatal drug overdose

The family of a woman who died from a prescription drug overdose in 2017 is suing Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva and Dr. Zbigniew Ciechanowski, alleging that emergency room doctors didn’t recognize the signs of 56-year-old Linda Svanstrom’s addiction and continued to prescribe her “powerful” painkillers, according to the Aurora Beacon-News.
