Falling debris brings $8.1M in settlement

The family of a 25-year-old man who was killed while working at a demolition site in 2013 has settled their lawsuit for $8.1 million.On Dec. 26, 2013, Patrick O’Reilly and Adam Ruprecht were removing part of an exterior wall of what would become Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant at what was then the Westfield Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills when pieces of concrete fell from the roof onto them.O’Reilly was killed and Ruprecht sustained a head injury, right elbow bursitis and a partial thickness tear of his right triceps …
